MCCD Officers Asking People to Fill Their Cruisers for Toys for Tots

The 75th Annual Marine’s Toys for Tots toy drive is underway and you can be a part of it by donating a new toy next Tuesday during the City of Lavonia’s Christmas Tree Lighting event.

Officers from the Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division will be parked at the Gazebo on the 29th from 5p to 7p asking people to fill their patrol cars with unwrapped toys.

Toys for Tots expects the number of children in need this year to increase significantly.

Record-high inflation is affecting all of us — but the stress of rising costs can be especially impactful on low-income families, who are feeling the effects more than anyone and facing the holidays with bright-eyed and hopeful children.

That means many families across the Country can’t afford to provide Christmas gifts for their children — many for the first time in their lives.

In such a difficult year, more families than ever are counting on Toys for Tots to ensure their children have at least one present to open on Christmas morning.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity that was created at the behest of the U. S. Marine Corps in 1991.

Since 2001 the Marine Toys for Tots has ranked as one of the top-rated charities by “Philanthropy 400.”
