Man Found Shot Dead in Atlanta is From Lavonia

Wallace Vaughn was found dead in Atlanta Monday

A man found shot to death in Northwest Atlanta this week was from Lavonia.

According to a report on Fox 5 Atlanta, 41-year old Wallace Vaughn’s body was found Monday off Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway just after 1 a.m.

Atlanta Police said it appeared Vaughn died of a gunshot wound.

So far, Atlanta police have no suspects and no witnesses in Vaughn’s death.

According to local law enforcement Vaughn was known to law enforcement in Lavonia and Franklin County.

In 2012, he was arrested and charged with a smash and grab burglary at the Royal Food Store at the corner of SR59 and GA328.

At the time, Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said the entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

Vaughn pled guilty to felony burglary/smash and grab in 2014 and served three years before being paroled in 2017.

As part of his 2014 sentence, he was barred from Franklin County, according to Chief Carlisle.
