Lots of Family Fun in Lavonia Area This Weekend

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend that doesn’t involve a lawn mower or a weed whacker, you might want to head down to Tugaloo State Park and Main St. in downtown Lavonia.

There’s lots to do this afternoon and this evening at Tugaloo State Park in Lavonia.

A volleyball tournament takes place this afternoon from 1-3p for ages 12 and up.

Then from 4p – 5:30p bring the kids out for some good old fashioned backyard games, like waffle ball, Frisbee and more – all taking place at the baseball field.

At 6p, the Nature Hut will have a program for everyone to learn about all the critters of the park. You even get to pet live snakes..

And when the sun goes down at 9p Join the Naturalist at the nature hut to embark upon a moonlit stroll through the woods!

Then on Saturday, Tugaloo State Park is offering a morning nature hike at 9a on the Muscadine Trail at the beach.

At 1p bring Bring your plastic shovels, your buckets, and the kids too and learn how to build sandcastles at the beach!

And at 3p on Saturday you can head on down to the nature hut to learn about all the native flora and fauna of the park!

After all of that fun, it’s time to party on Saturday night.  And what better way to do that than at the Gazebo on Main St in Lavonia for a Beach Party.

There will be live music by the Lawhead Brothers, featuring City Manager Gary Fesperman on the drums.

Bring your dance shoes and lawn chairs and come out for a great evening of fun and good music.

The fun starts at 7p and is free.
