Lookout Placed for Home Invasion Suspect

SandersBanks County Authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect in connection with an overnight home invasion.

Banks County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said at 1:13 am Thursday morning, Banks County deputies responded to a residence on Highway 59  near Industrial Drive in reference to a possible home invasion.  When deputies arrived at the residence, authorities found that the suspect had fled the scene.

The suspect is identified as Jackson Lewis Sanders.
 
Throughout the early  morning hours, Banks County authorities searched for Sanders with the help of the Georgia State Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Commerce Police Department, and Lee Arrendale Corrections K9 Unit.  However, by mid-morning the search was called off and it is believed Sanders was able to escape in a vehicle and has fled the area.
 
“We have obtained information that Sanders fled the area in a 2015 Ford Focus,” McFaddin said. “We are advising citizens not to approach Sanders but to call 911 immediately. He is possibly armed and dangerous. We have confirmed this was not a random act, but Sanders and the victim were acquainted.”
 
Sanders is described as a white male with multiple tattoos on his arms and legs, 6’02, and 195 lbs.
 
He was last observed wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone that has any information regarding Sanders whereabouts is asked to contact Banks County E911 at 706-677-1234, Banks County Sheriff’s Office at 706-677-2248 or 911.  You do not have to give your name.
