Local High Schools Take Part in North GA Tech Video Contest

“What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?”

North Georgia Tech wants local high school students to show them in a video contest going on now.

The talents of several local high school video production students will soon be on display for the community as they showcase a local manufacturer in the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” contest sponsored by North Georgia Technical College.

Five high schools have partnered with a manufacturer in their county to produce a short video to promote careers in local manufacturing.

The competition among the five counties participating is very strong, according to North Georgia Tech spokesperson Sandra Maughon.

Competing schools and companies include, Franklin County and Ross Controls. Stephens County and Global Partitions, White County and Cleveland Tool and Design, Habersham County and TenCate, and Union County and Corrugated Replacements, and

“There will be several awards given for various accomplishments based on the video,” said NGTC Vice President for Economic Development Dr. Mark Ivester. “However, the big winner, the “Viewer’s Choice Award,” will be the video that receives the most votes on a designated website starting October 16 through the 21. We hope everyone will get on the site and vote for your home team and show your community pride.” Voting details and directions will be publicized soon

Details on how to go about voting for your favorite video will be released soon by North Georgia Tech. .

The winner will be announced at the NGTC Industrial Summit on October 22.
