Several churches in our area will be doing free food giveaways next week.

Allens United Methodist Church on Highway 106 in Martin will be giving out free food boxes filled with groceries on Monday, March 6th from 10 am-1 pm

The church is located at 15577 Hwy 106, Martin, in the Red Hill Community.

Then on March 7, Martin Baptist Church in partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast
Georgia will distribute free food to all qualifying residents of the Martin area of Stephens and Franklin Counties from 2p to 4p.

The church holds a food giveaway on the first Tuesday of each month.

The participant’s signature on the form at the Food Pantry serves as proof of income. No other documents are required. Program benefits and participation are made available to everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability.

Martin Baptist Church is located just north of the caution light in downtown Martin on the west side of Highway 17.

And on Thursday, March 9, the Lavonia Church of God, in partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, will distribute free food to all qualifying residents of Franklin and Hart counties in the parking lot of the church on Bear Creek Road beginning at 8a.

Again, a signature on a form signed at the Mobile Food Pantry serves as proof of income and no other documents are required.

This event is held on a first come first serve basis and will be held rain or shine and volunteers are always welcome.

They ask that those wishing to receive food plan to be at the church at 7:30 a.m. on the 9th. For more information or questions, call the church office at 706-356-4472.
