Local Animal Shelter Remains Closed for Another Week

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter remains closed to the public for another week.

Shelter Director Tammi Jourdenais says it’s due to several staff members testing positive for COVID-19.  She said the shelter plans to re-open on Tuesday, September 13.

The shelter continues to be overflowing with dogs and cats, so much, that they do not have room for additional turn-ins at this time.

She says they are struggling to find homes or no-kill rescues to adopt or take the dogs and cats.

Again, the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter is closed for another week.  It will re-open in Tuesday, September 13.

Shelter hours are 11a – 4p Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The adoption fee for dogs is $75 and includes their shots and a spay/neuter certificate

The adoption fee for cats is $40 and also includes their shots and a spay/neuter certificate.
