Lights Back on at Hartwell Dam

The lights at Hartwell Dam are back on.
Early yesterday morning, some concerned citizens contacted 92-1 to report the lights at the dam were not lit. So we checked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah office. Corps spokesman Billy Birdwell said the lights outage was due to a malfunctioning timer.
“It was out of adjustment,” Birdwell said. “The dam operator noticed it almost immediately because it lights up the security cameras, so they noticed it real quick and it was fixed right away.”
Birdwell assures us that there were no major problems at the dam Wednesday morning and all is now back running smoothly.
