A 23-year old Lavonia man is on his way back to state prison after authorities discovered a meth trafficking operation at his house.

Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said on Monday June 28, his officers, along with agents from other local agencies descended on a house at 5155 Vickery St. after receiving a tip.

“Investigators with the Lavonia Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, the Georgia State Parole and the Drug Task Force of the Northern Piedmont Multi-agency Narcotics Squad received information about a Lavonia man that was trafficking in a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine,” Carlisle said.

Carlisle said after receiving a search warrant for the home, officers and agents discovered the drug.

“Upon converging on the individual’s residence after obtaining a consent to search, four ounces of crystal methamphetamines were discovered in his home. He was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine,” Carlisle said.

Arrested was 23-year old Justin Cruz Pearson.

Pearson was charged with drug trafficking and is being held in the Franklin County Detention Center with a hold on him from the State of Georgia.

Carlisle said Pearson had just been released from Washington state prison on June 9 after serving three years of a ten year sentence for burglary and other charges and was on parole the time of his arrest.
