Lavonia Kindness Effort Reaches Out to Farmers Market

The City of Lavonia continues its effort to demonstrate kindness throughout the year and for the month of June, they’ve chosen to support the town’s farmers market.

On the Lavonia DDA Facebook page, Mayor Courtney Umbehant pointed out the Lavonia Farmer’s Market is the only one in a county known for its agriculture.

This month’s initiative aims to highlight the importance of supporting local farmers and artisans, fostering a sense of community, and promoting sustainability.

So, during June, everyone is invited to come out and experience the welcoming and bountiful locally grown produce and homemade products that Lavonia and Franklin County have to offer.

In April, Lavonia Main Street Director Ashley Rose Dodd said the City was in the process of expanding and making improvements to the Farmer’s Market and one of those initiatives was to find a permanent, larger space for the market.

The Lavonia Farmer’s Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 7a to 11a and is temporarily located in front of the Gazebo on Main St. Until the end of July.
