Lavonia Fall Festival This Weekend

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg is predicting a picture-perfect fall weekend and that bodes well for this weekend’s annual Lavonia Fall Festival.

Sponsored by the Lavonia Chamber of Commerce, festival organizer Al Goldsmith says this year over 60 vendors will be on hand to offer an array of food, arts and crafts.

“We’ve got 60 vendors taking up over 90 booths because some are taking double spaces,”  Goldsmith said. “We’ve got 14 food vendors. So, we’ve got some new vendors coming in and some of our old standbys. I only have two empty spaces left.”

Midgie Fall Fest1In addition, Goldsmith said there will be lots of children’s activities and rides for everyone in the family.

“We’ve got pony rides, bouncy houses, small train rides and this year again we will have the big train ride from the train depot and they will be $5 apiece,” Goldsmith said.

Train rides from the train station will run at 9:30a, 10:30a, 11:30a and 1p, 2p, and 3p.

Also there will be lots of great entertainment going on all day at the Gazebo.

“We’ve got dancers and square dancers and live music performing all day,” Goldsmith said.

And just a reminder, SR59 going through downtown Lavonia will be closed Saturday because of the festival.  The Lavonia fall festival takes place from 9a to 4p in downtown Lavonia.
