Lavonia City Council to Tour Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants Today

The Lavonia City Council will be spending their afternoon today learning more about the City’s water and wastewater treatment plants.

Councilmen and the Mayor will tour the facilities beginning at 3:30p beginning with the Lavonia Wastewater Treatment Facility on Allen Farm Road.

From there, they will head to the Lavonia Water Facility on Pleasant Hill Road.

Mayor Courtney Umbehant said the tours are for informational purposes.

“The purpose of the work session is to help the Council gain more knowledge of the procedures, plant operations, and the needs of those plants,” he said. “So when they have to make decisions on issues going forward they have the best information that they can possibly have and have a working knowledge of the way the plants  are supposed to work and be able to problem-solve.”

And because it is a city council work session it is open to the public.
