Lavonia City Council to Meet This Afternoon

The Lavonia City Council has a lot on their agenda this evening, including deciding on two rezoning requests.

Before the regular city council meeting, the Lavonia Planning & Zoning Commission will hear a request from Mike Haley to rezone 80 acres on Gerrard Road from the current conservation use zoning to B-3 Heavy Industrial.

The Council will hear the first reading and the recommendation by the Commission during their regular meeting at 5:30p.

The Council is also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Franklin County for the purchase of water from the City and approve a contract with engineer consultant Jerry Weitz.

Tonight’s Planning & Zoning meeting takes place at 5p followed by the regular City Council meeting at 5:30p.

Both are at Lavonia City Hall and are open to the public.
