Lavonia Chamber Honors Local Businesses, Volunteers at Awards Banquet

The Lavonia Chamber of Commerce paid tribute last week to local business leaders and citizen volunteers who had made a significant impact on the economy and community as a whole at their annual Chamber Banquet.

The Banquet took place Tuesday evening, February 6, at the Lavonia Train Depot.

Chamber president Matt Fowler said the Chamber’s goal for the 2024 year is to continue to grow, develop, and serve all of Lavonia’s local businesses.

This year’s winners included H&R Block which received the Business of the Year Award.

And Drs. Dale and Pam Stone who received the Citizen of the Year award.

Dr. Pam Stone said no one was more surprised to receive that award than she and her husband.

Pam Stone is a retired veterinarian and one of the founders of the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter.

Dr. Dale Stone has practiced General Dentistry in Lavonia since 1977 and is an active member of the Franklin County Gideons and the Lavonia Lions Club.

Both Pam and Dale are also very active in their church, The Journey at First Baptist Church in Lavona.

Other Chamber award recipients last week include:

  • Brenton Bowens – Volunteer of the year
  • 211 Main – Customer Service Award
  • Laura Williams with the Lions Club – Street Restaurant Networking Award
  • Ed Murdock – Community Investment Award

The Chamber dinner was catered by Longhorn Steakhouse.
