Lavonia Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is Tonight

he Christmas holiday season will officially kick-off for folks in Lavonia tonight with the annual lighting of the Lavonia Christmas tree.
Tonight’s lighting takes place and activities will run from 5p to 7p with the tree lighting taking place at 6p at the Gazebo on Main St. downtown.
Lavonia Welcome Center Director Barbara Busby says everyone is welcome to attend this fun Christmas tradition.
This year local downtown merchants are participating in a window painting competition. Busby says customers are asked to vote for their favorite storefront Christmas display.
And there’s still time for your child to get his letter posted to Santa.
Busby says the mailbox is outside of the Lavonia train depot and she said Santa also needs your mailing address to he can answer your child’s letter.
Again, tonight’s tree lighting event takes place from 5p to 7p with the tree lighting at 6p.
