Kemp to Visit Clayton Friday

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is coming to Rabun County.

Kemp will be campaigning for another term and meeting residents, according to Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols.

Nichols said the Governor’s Office reached out to the County saying Kemp wants to touch base with the citizens and voters here.

Kemp will be at the Clayton Cafe and Market Friday at 3:30 pm.

His office said he plans to be there for about an hour to meet and speak with citizens and hear their concerns.

On Wednesday, Kemp announced record-breaking job creation from Economic Development Projects for the first half of the fiscal year (July 1 and December 31, 2021).

The160 locations or expansions supported by GDEcD’s Global Commerce division he said will result in the creation of nearly 24,400 jobs and a $9.8 billion investment in the state.

Areas outside the 10-county metro Atlanta region accounted for 60 percent of jobs created and 78 percent of investments during the period.
