Number of Franklin Co Schools COVID Cases Highest Ever

The Franklin County Charter System is seeing the highest number of COVID cases ever.

In the chart released Tuesday on their Facebook page, there are currently 62 students with COVID in a total school population of 3,630.

Additionally, 741 students have been quarantined for possible exposure to the virus – more than last year.

As of Monday, 13 school employees had COVID and six employees are quarantined.

In a short speech on their Facebook page Tuesday, School Superintendent Chris Forrer said he shares everyone’s concerns.

Forrer then went on to explain what the school system is doing to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Forrer also pleaded with parents and the community to quote, “agree to disagree” on the handling of the COVID crisis in the schools.

Forrer ended by saying he is confident the schools can get through this latest surge and he asked everyone to pray for the safety of students and staff.
