Josh Smith Sworn In as New Fr. Co. Commissioner for District 4

Josh Smith will take his seat at the next Franklin County Board of Commissioners meeting as the new Commissioner for District 4.

With his wife and children at his side, Smith was sworn in at 3:45 Friday afternoon by Probate Judge Ken Evanson.

Smith, who initially ran for the seat last May, qualified to run in a special election set for March 21.

However, since he was the only one to qualify, the special election was canceled.

After hearing last month that he was the sole qualifier  Smith said he’s looking forward to serving the citizens of District 4.

“I’m super excited about the win and thankful that I will have the opportunity to serve the citizens, which I wanted to do from the beginning,” he told WLHR News. “I’m just glad that I have the opportunity to continue to serve as a public servant and I look forward to the future.”

He replaces former District 4 Commissioner Eddie Wester who chose not to run for re-election.
