Joe Payne, Sr.

Mr. Joe Stewart Payne, Sr. of Jefferson, Georgia, formerly of Hartwell, Georgia, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 Lavonia First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Lavonia City-Burgess Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 1:00 p.m until 2:00pm.  Flowers are optional or memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences may also be sent to the family by visiting www.stricklandfh.com.  Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia is in charge of the arrangements.
