Stephens County Hospital is hosting a Nurses’ Night Out at Reflections this evening.

According to Stephens County Hospital’s Human Resources Manager Jessica Blalock it’s actually a job fair to recruit new nurses.

“This Friday night, from 5p to 8p, we’ll be hosting Nurses Night Out—a hiring event for Registered Nurses—we’re going to host it at Reflections at Lake Toccoa over by Pings,” she said. “We’ll be doing on-site interviews with the nurse managers. Each nurse manager for the different sections at the hospital will be there interviewing for whichever department you’re interested in. And we’ll be doing tentative job offers.”

According to Blalock, Stephens County Hospital is in need of nurses in several departments, especially in the new Senior Behavioral Unit.

“We’re hiring Registered Nurses for our OR, ICU, MedSurge, ER, and Senior Behavioral Health Unit. As we get busier and busier, we’re going to need more nurses and we’re preparing for that. We’re launching a stoke initiative and we’re just growing over here at Stephens County Hospital,” she said.

She added Stephens County Hospital offers a great benefits package and a competitive salary.

“One of the benefits that most people look at is of course compensation. We have revised our pay scale completely to be competitive with the market here. Our Registered Nurses have a large range. The starting pay for someone with no experience starts at $32.03 then it goes up to $43.38 just depending on experience somewhere on that scale. We’ll be offering those rates at the hiring event. We also offer really wonderful benefits. We have medical, dental, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability, cancer insurance, all that good stuff. The hospital actually covers life insurance for you and your family, basic life insurance, and a basic long-term disability which is really unique. I haven’t really seen that at many facilities. Overall, we offer a family environment and everyone here is treated with care and respect,” she said.

Again, this evening’s Nurses Night Out job fair takes place from 5p to 8p at Reflections on Lake Toccoa.
