Jeremy Green Enters Not-Guilty Plea in 2015 Rape of Underage Girl

A Bowersville man charged with six counts of statutory rape and child molestation dating back to 2015 has pleaded not guilty in Hart County Superior Court.

On Monday, the attorney for 36-year old Jeremy Leonard Green entered a waiver of not-guilty plea on all counts.

Green was arrested in June 2021 and later indicted on August 17, 2021.

The six-count indictment alleges Green molested and raped a teenage girl under the age of 16 from July 2015 to November 2015.

The girl, identified in the indictment as 20-year old Jennifer Cobb, died June 30, 2021.

He was released on a $250,000 bond.

Cobb’s parents say they believe their daughter’s death is related to years of sexual abuse on the part of Green though he has only been indicted for alleged crimes in 2015.

Since then, Cobb’s mother has been campaigning to make parents aware of the signs their child is being groomed by a predator.

A trial date for Green has not yet been set.
