Jefferson Facing Multiple Drug and Other Charges After Traffic Stop

In Jackson County, a Jefferson man is behind bars after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of a large number of drugs and other stolen and illegal items.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 29-year old Cody McGowan Hall.

During the traffic stop, a substantial amount of methamphetamine was located along with a stolen license plate and a shotgun.

Through further investigation at a local residence, Jackson County Sheriff’s investigators located four stolen motorcycles and several items from a local burglary.

A utility trailer that had been recently stolen in Jackson County was also located.

Hall is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine w/ Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Felony Theft by Rec. Stolen Property X3, Misd. Theft by Rec. Stolen Property X5, Driving While License Suspended, Operation of a Vehicle w/out a Current Plate, Removing or Affixing a License Plate w/Intent to Conceal Identity of Vehicle, and Tail Light Violation.

Mangum said citizens are encouraged to notify their local law enforcement agencies of any suspicious persons, crimes, or other relevant information by calling 911 or their local sheriff’s office.
