It’s a Seller’s Market Out There with Not Enough Homes Available in Some Counties

It’s a hot real estate market right now in Northeast Georgia but the number of homes for sale has dwindled.

According to Norton Marketwatch buying a home remains an extreme sport in North Georgia. Buyers know to look alive and stay aggressive while sellers expect top dollar for their homes.

Norton Native Intelligence, for the first time in a while, there’s a significant shift in inventory with a 22% increase in homes listed for sale in July compared to June.

This increase in available homes is already giving sales a boost, which jumped 15% in just one month.

Median sales prices continue to rise providing little relief to those hunting for homes under $250k.

Over the past 12 months, about 120 homes in the $150-$250K range were sold in Franklin County, according to Norton Marketwatch.

Currently, there are less than 20 in that range for sale and even fewer in the less than $149K range.

Over the past 12 months in Stephens County about 140 homes in the $150-$250 range were sold and about 130 were sold under that were under $149K.

Right now, Norton Market watch is reporting very few homes in either price range on the market in Stephens County.
