Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests for Trafficking Narcotics and Criminal Street Gang Charges

Law enforcement officials have arrested 5 people for drug and gang charges after a three-month joint investigation. On Thursday February 24, 2022, police executed search warrants in Toccoa, GA at 104 Hughes Street, 299 Emily Street, and 180 Whisenant Street.
The following people were arrested and charged:
Dometrious Sanchez Smith, age 32 – two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, three counts under the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act
Roger Laquerrious Neal, age 32 – one count distribution of methamphetamine
Anthony L. Harrison, age 39 – one count (misdemeanor) possession of marijuana
Quentin Shrod Reed, age 32 – possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute
Delane Mayfield, age 54 – possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor)
Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Toccoa Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Drug Enforcement Administration, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 8 Investigative Office (Cleveland) and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office were involved in the investigation.
The investigation is still active and ongoing. More charges are anticipated.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Banks County, Jackson County, Habersham County, Stephens County, Rabun County, and Franklin County, Gilmer County, Fannin County, along with the Cleveland Police Department, the Toccoa Police Department, the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, Georgia Department of Community Service, Georgia State Patrol, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
