Independence Day Celebrations and Events

If you’re looking for fireworks and other fun things to do this weekend ahead of July 4th, several area communities and churches are hosting Independence Day events.

In Toccoa-Stephens County, everyone is invited to attend the 2023 Stephens County Fireworks Display and Independence Day Celebration tonight just after dark around 9p.

The event will take place at the Rose Lane Recreation Complex, located at 125 Roselane Drive, and will include food vendors and inflatables.

Additionally, the City’s Splash Pad will be today open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The City of Commerce is hosting its annual Summer in the City Music & Fireworks event Saturday.

Activities include the movie Jaws. Then get a pool pass to cool off at the city pool then dry yourself off and come to Spencer Park and grab yourself some food and enjoy the sounds from Back in Time Band and wait to see the spectacular fireworks show!

Fireworks begin as soon as it’s dark.

At Tugaloo State Park, you can celebrate Independence Day with a golf cart parade!

Decorate your golf carts with red, white, and blue and tour the campground or come to watch the parade.

Golf carts will meet at the nature hut before 5:00 pm, and candy will be greatly appreciated as well.

That will be followed by Movie Night Under the Stars at 8:30p.

Feel free to bring your chairs, picnic blankets, and even golf carts to enjoy the evening.

On Sunday, everyone is invited to Martin Baptist Church’s God and Country Rally, July 2nd from 4-7 p.m. There will be free food, games, and inflatables.

And Bowman Church of God will have a Celebrate Freedom event Sunday night beginning at 7p.

They’ll have hot dogs, boiled peanuts, snow cones, and water plus music and then fireworks when it gets dark.
