HOPE High School Equivalency Exam Grant Now Available

North Georgia Technical College is now offering free classes to help people earn their GED.

NGTC Dean for Education Shelby Ward tells WLHR News that the Adult Education Department at North Georgia Technical College is prepared to help individuals earn their High School Equivalency.

Ward said North GA Tech has learning centers available with qualified teachers who can help students prepare for the test and apply for the HOPE High School equivalency grant.

She said all classes are free of charge, and our staff is committed to assisting our students to reach these important goals.

The Technical College System of Georgia recently announced that eligible Georgians can now earn their high school equivalency diploma for free.

Last year, the Georgia General Assembly passed, and Governor Brian P. Kemp signed into law, a bill establishing the HOPE High School Equivalency Examination Grant Program.

Eligible Georgians will receive an award of up to $200 to cover exam fees for the GED exam.

For a person to be eligible to receive a HOPE HSE Examination Grant, they must meet general HOPE requirements and TCSG’s HSE test readiness standards.

Georgians can apply once per subject area exam.
