Hartwell Woman Charged in Murder of Walhalla Man

A Hartwell woman is behind bars in Oconee County, South Carolina charged with the murder of a Walhalla man.

Wednesday evening, investigators with the Walhalla Police Department arrested 37-year-old, Lakeisha McLendon of Hartwell for the murder of Terrance Boyd.

Boyd was pronounced dead at a residence on Moore Avenue in Walhalla on Monday.

Autopsy results showed that Boyd died as a result of a stab wound to his chest.

According to Walhalla Police Chief Tim Rice, during the investigation, officers gathered enough information to determine McLendon was responsible for Boyd’s death.

McLendon was jailed on a Temporary Custody Order until warrants can be obtained for Murder.

McLendon is currently in jail at the Oconee County Detention Center.

Rice thanked the Hart County Sheriff’s office, the Hartwell Police and the Georgia State Patrol for their assistance in making the arrest.
