Hartwell Attorney Charged with Giving Cellphone to Jail Inmate

A Hartwell attorney is charged with giving a cell phone to an inmate in the Elbert County Detention Center.

According to a report in the Elberton Star, 41-year old Milon Jeremy Daniel Moore of Hartwell was arrested Tuesday, October 26, one day after an Elbert County Grand Jury indicted him on a charge of furnishing prohibited items to inmates.

A warrant for Moore’s arrest was then issued and signed by District Attorney Parks White and Superior Court Judge R. Chris Phelps.

According to the indictment, on April 22, Moore allegedly gave a cell phone to his client, Sandro Barbosa who was incarcerated at the Elbert County Detention Center awaiting trial on charges of aggravataed child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery and child molestation.

Moore was released on a $5,000 bond.
