Hart EMC crews have been in Tennessee the last couple of days where they have been helping to restore power after storms moved through the area last Friday.

The strong storms roared through East Tennessee leaving thousands without power and toppling trees across the area.

Over 50,000 people lost power across East Tennessee Friday as the storm blew through, and another 110,000 in the Nashville area to the north.

Hart EMC trucks and crewmen Kelvin Simpson, Brady Burgess, Shun Martin, Payton Hill, Eric Brown, and Caden Hart left for Sequachee Valley, Tennessee Sunday and arrived Sunday night.

The Sequachee Valley is located just over the Georgia and Alabama state lines.

Sequachee Valley EMC serves over 35,000 members in Bledsoe, Grundy, Marion, and Sequatchie counties in Tennessee.

At the height of the storm, they reported over 22,000 customers without power across the valley.

In addition to crews from Hart EMC, crews from Caney Fork Electric Cooperative and Duck River Electric also arrived to help and worked through Monday to restore power to thousands living in the area.

As of Monday night, the Sequachee Valley Electric FB page reported they will continue to work on one last area today where they need to change out 3 phase power poles.
