Hart County Elections Supervisor Reminds Voters Now is the Time to Request Absentee Ballots

Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb is reminding citizens who plan to vote absentee in the November Election that now is the time to request your absentee ballot application.

“Anybody who needs an absentee ballot application now is the time to apply,” she said. “Just because they voted absentee in 2020 doesn’t mean they’re going to get one this year if they don’t apply. A lot of people don’t know that. So, they need to get those applications in as soon as they can because that’s a lot of processing,” she said.

Absentee ballots may be requested either online, by email, by mail, by fax, or in person.

You must submit your application for an absentee ballot by the deadline, which is any time between 78 and 11 calendar days prior to Election Day.

After sending in your request to your Board of Elections office or Registrar, you will receive your absentee paper ballot in the mail.

Webb and other Elections Supervisors around the State will begin mailing out absentee ballots on October 10th.

Once completed you can mail your absentee ballot to your local County Board of Elections or Registrar’s Office by the time polls close on Election Day in order for your vote to be counted.

This is also a good time to make sure you are still on the voter rolls.

If you have not voted in the last two elections, you may have been removed from your County’s voter list.

You should call your Board of Elections or Registrar’s office to find out if you are still on the voter list. If you have been removed, you must re-register.

The deadline to register to vote is October 11.
