Hart County Community Theatre to Hold Auditions This Weekend

The Hart County Community Theatre is holding auditions beginning Friday for their next production, The Sound of Music.

Performances will be May 12 – 21.

Set in Austria as the Nazi party is staging a takeover of the country in 1938, The Sound of Music tells the story of Maria, a woman on a journey of self-discovery that leads her to faith, love, and family.

If you plan to audition you need to come prepared to sing at least 16 bars, either a cappella or with a track.

A short, memorized monologue 30 to 60 seconds long is strongly preferred, but cold reads will also be available.

Audition songs and monologues DO NOT have to be from The Sound of Music, but should reflect the character of the role you are auditioning for, (if it is a specific role.)

Monologue samples can be found on the Hart County Community Theatre website.

Audition times are 6p – 8p Friday, and 2p -4p Saturday and Sunday.

They are also actively seeking crew members for this production and for their new season.

Those include:
Directors
Assistant Directors
Music Directors
Stage Managers
Tech Operations: Lighting and Sound
Stage Crew
Costumers

For more information on being part of the crew, you can go online to the Hart Community Theatre website at https://www.hhcct.org/.
