Hart County Chamber Nails Down 2016 Spring and Summer Events

Hart County’s Chamber of Commerce finalizing plans for what is expected to be a busy year of events.

Chamber Executive Director Nicki Meyer says they are now taking reservations for their spring Antique Boat show.

“We’re inviting any vendors to be a part of it,” Meyer said. “We are inviting our normal vendors, but we would like to have some new fresh arts and craft vendors to be there.”

The Antique Boat Show takes place Saturday April 16 from 10a to 3p at the Hartwell Marina.

Meyer said they hope to have about 50 antique boats in the show.

In addition to the antique boats, the show will also include a vintage car cruise-in.

“The Porsche Club will absolutely be invited, but we also thought we would like to have something more local,” Meyer said. “People love to see the the antique cars and the owners love to show them. Any vendor or vintage car owner who would like to be involved in the Antique Boat Show, they can contact me at the Chamber and we will get them the information.”

And other events coming up this spring Meyer said begin with the polar bear jump in next month.

“I just confirmed that the Dam Run is May 7th, Cars and Guitars is May 28th,” Meyer said. “The Polar Bear Plunge is February 27th at Hartwell Marina, and this year it will be a winter festival.”

Additionally, the Botanical Garden plant sale is coming up April 15 and 16 and in May over Memorial Day weekend is the Cars and Guitars under the Stars event, the Music Festival and the Challenge of the Centuries bike ride.

And at the end of June is the pre-4th Extravaganza and Dancin on Depot and the Fireworks show at Big Oaks Recreation Center on June 25th.
