Hart County Board of Commissioners Meeting Tonight

The Hart County Board of Commissioners second monthly meeting is tonight.  Several items on the agenda include approving the minutes from previous meetings.  Also a few old business items on the agenda including a second reading of an ordinance that would establish a County Marshal Office.  Commissioners will also discuss the revised list of county roads being considered to receive funds from the state’s Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) program.  Hart County Commissioner Joey Dorsey says approximately 19 miles of county roads were originally considered to receive funds.  However, due to the rising costs of asphalt, commissioners had to whittle down the list of roads and cut-throughs to those needing the most attention or approximately 8 miles.

Also, three new agenda items including beginning the official process of redistricting the voting precincts as required by law after the Census is released.  Also on the agenda, working out the credit for year’s experience for a new appraisal staff hire as it pertains to compensation package.   And finally, acceptance of the Fiscal Year 2023 Trauma Commission Grant for the EMS Office.  The Hart County Board of Commissioners meeting begins a 6:00 p.m. at the Hart County Administrative and Emergency Services Center located on Chandler Street in Hartwell.  The meetings are open to the public
