Hart Co Botanical Gardens Spring Plant Sale Coming Up

The Hart County Botanical Garden will host its annual Spring Plant Sale April 12 – 13.

Located at the garden, 1277 Elberton Hwy, Hartwell, this year’s members-only pre-sale is Fri., April 12, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The public sale is Sat., April 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

There will be a membership table at the members-only pre-sale, so shoppers can join the Botanical Garden before picking up their flowers and other garden plants.

According to Botanical Garden president Lorin Clark, the annual spring plant sale offers a variety of unique, hard-to-find plants including natives as well as options for both shade and sunny spaces.

Shrubs, perennials, ferns and other shade plants, vegetables, herbs, annuals, and hanging baskets will be available.

Additionally, shoppers can take advantage of gaining some gardening information from local master gardeners who will be on hand to offer help and advice.

And for those concerned about our pollinators, there will be a good variety of flowers that attract, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

They include butterfly milkweed which is the primary food source for the monarch butterflies, as well as American gold rush rudbeckia with a prolific bloom of sunshine yellow flowers.

Garden hats, gloves, t-shirts, and note cards will also be for sale. Cash, checks, and major credit cards are accepted.

The garden is a self-supporting non-profit organization maintained solely by volunteers. All sale proceeds go to support the garden.
