Haering Precision Hosts Inaugural Skills Invitational in Partnership with North Georgia Technical College.

Haering Precision in Lavonia has announced its first annual Skills Invitational.

In collaboration with North Georgia Technical College, the competition is this Wednesday, April 24 on the North Georgia Tech Clarkesville campus.

Dustin Chambers is the Commercial Plant Manager at Haering Precision.

“We are thrilled to launch this initiative in partnership with North Georgia Technical College,” said Chambers. “It’s crucial to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals and showcase the exciting career paths awaiting them in manufacturing.”

The Skills Invitational is designed to bring together students from local high schools and pair them with senior precision machining students from North Georgia Tech in a pro-am style contest.

The primary objective of this competition is to foster interest in machining and metals jobs while raising awareness about the numerous opportunities available within the manufacturing industry.

During the competition, participants will engage in various challenges that test their technical skills, creativity, and teamwork.

Students will work together to design and construct their own wax stamp.

Winners of the Skills Invitational will not only receive community recognition but also gain access to paid internship opportunities at Haering Precision, an experience that can significantly enhance their career prospects.

In addition to internship opportunities, participants will have the chance to win a range of prizes, including some that will be especially beneficial to them as they begin a career in manufacturing.

“We believe that hands-on experiences and mentorship are invaluable in shaping future leaders in the manufacturing sector,” added Nathan Lindler, Technical Plant Manager at Haering Precision. “Through this event, we aim to empower young talent and encourage them to explore the exciting possibilities within our industry.”
