Good Weather Expected for Lavonia Fall Festival Saturday

Midgie Fall Fest1Rain is expected to hold off until at least Saturday night, bringing good weather for Saturday’s Lavonia Fall Festival.

Sponsored by the Lavonia Chamber of Commerce, festival organizer Al Goldsmith says this year, more vendors than ever will be on hand to offer an array of arts and crafts, and good food.

“We’ve got over 100 vendors coming and all of the vendor spaces taken up,” Goldsmith said. “We’ve got new vendors coming who heard of our festival and wanted to come this year as well as the old standards.”

In addition, Goldsmith said there will be lots of children’s activities such as bouncy houses, little choo choo rides, and games, as well as rides for everyone in the family.  And he says that includes train rides on the Hartwell Railroad.

“The train is going to be running six runs at 9:30a, 10:30a, 11:30a, 1p, 2p, and 3p,” Goldsmith said. “It’s $5 to ride the train and we’ve got the tickets ready for each time. So. People can buy their tickets ahead of time.”

And as in past years, there will be lots of great entertainment going on all day at the Gazebo.   The Lavonia fall festival takes place from 9a to 4p in downtown Lavonia.
