Georgia Man’s Death Ruled Accidental Drowning

A Georgia man who fell off a boat Saturday near the Harbor Light Marina in Hart County died from drowning.

Late Monday, Oconee County, SC coroner Karl Addis released the official results of an autopsy done on the body of 23-year old Logon Wolfe of Richmond Hill, GA.

Wolfe was riding on a pontoon boat with friends Saturday afternoon after a weekend camping trip when he fell overboard into Hartwell Lake and never resurfaced.

Dive teams recovered his body in 55-feet of water Sunday morning.

Addis said Wolfe sustained no fatal injuries as a result of his fall from the pontoon boat, and he said there was no medical evidence that Wolfe sustained a seizure as described by his friends.

However, Addis said specimens will be submitted to the SLED laboratory for toxicology analysis; but those results will not be available for several weeks.

Addis ruled Wolfe’s death as accidental drowning.
