Georgia DOT Schedules Road Work This Week

With the sunny weather comes more road work in Franklin, Hart and surrounding counties by the Georgia DOT this week. 

Crews will be out mowing tall vegetation and patching roads in Franklin, Hart, Banks, Stephens, Elbert and Madison counties. 

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures. 

Franklin – A crew will reset the grade of the shoulders alongside SR 328 to ensure proper drainage from the roadbed and another crew will mow and trim vegetation in rights of way alongside SR 51 and SR 198. 

Also, weather permitting, resurfacing work will continue along SR59. 

Hart – A crew will remove damaged sections of asphalt and replace it with new asphalt on SR 17 Royston Bypass. A lane closure will be required as crews work. Another crew will clean and repairs drainage pipes under SR 77 and SR 77 Connector. 

Banks – A crew will trim vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 164 and SR 198 and a crew will reset the grade of the shoulders alongside SR 15/US 441 to ensure proper drainage from the roadbed. 

Elbert – A crew will trim vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 17. 

Madison – A crew will hand sweep and inspect intersections on SR 106 while another crew cleans and restores ditches alongside SR 281. Vegetation alongside SR 98 will be trimmed using an extension arm trimmer. 

Stephens – A crew will inspect drainage pipes under SR 328 and SR 17.             

Motorists are asked to please reduce their speed in these and all G-DOT work zones.
