Georgia DNR Seeks Public Input for 2023-2025 Hunting Seasons

Hunters and other interested citizens are invited to lend your comments and ideas on the development of hunting regulation proposals for the 2023-2025 hunting seasons.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division is holding a number of in-person public meetings and one virtual public meeting this month to get input and ideas from licensed hunters.

All meetings take place at 7 pm. The meetings take place from January 12 – 19.

For our area, the best option for hunters might be the January 12 virtual meeting, which will be aired live on the Wildlife Resources Division Facebook page beginning at 7p.

There will be two in-person meetings in Americus and Milledgeville on January 17 and on January 18 two in-person meetings will take place at the Lumpkin County Library in Dahlonega and at the Liberty Co Performing Arts Center in Hinesville.

Two more meetings will be held on January 19 at Burnt Hickory Park in Dallas and Town’s Bluff Park in Hazelhurst.

In addition to the virtual meeting on the 12th, you can provide input via email at [email protected]

Or you can snail mail your comments to Dr. Tina Johannsen/GA DNR Wildlife Resources Division/2067 US Hwy. 278, SE/Social Circle, GA 30025.

All comments/statements must be received by the close of business (4:30 pm EST) on January 27, 2023.
