GDOT Awards Bids for Two North Georgia Projects

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced more than $111 million in bid awards for infrastructure improvement projects, including two projects in North Georgia.

The projects include Phase Two of the much anticipated West Cleveland Bypass in White County – a 2.3 mile corridor roughly between State Routes 115 and 11.

That will be built by G.P.’S Enterprises, Inc., of Auburn, GA, for $23.5 million and is scheduled to be completed in September, 2017.

Also in Madison County, three miles of State Route 72 near Comer will be widened and a new bridge across the South Fork of the Broad River constructed.

E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc., of Snellville, will do that work, valued at $17.2 million and set to be finished by January, 2017.
