G-DOT Crews Doing Road Work This Week on Area State Routes

The Georgia Department of Transportation crews will be out in force again this week.

All this week, crews will be doing routine maintenance and repair on state routes in Banks, Elbert, Franklin, Hart, Madison and Stephens Counties.

Franklin – A crew will mow the shoulders and slopes alongside SR 326. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Hart – A crew will repair the edge rutting at the edge of pavement alongside SR 51. A lane closure is required as this work occurs. Another crew will seal cracks in the roadway of SR 77 spur. A lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Banks – A crew repair the edge rutting at the edge of pavement SR 51 and SR 164. A lane will be closed as this work occurs.

Elbert – A crew will mow alongside SR 17 and SR 72. This work requires the shoulders to be closed.

Madison – The crew will repair the shoulders and slopes in rights of way alongside SR 106 and SR 174.. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Stephens – A crew will trim the tall grass growing around the guardrail on SR 17 Alt. The shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Crews will work Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures.   However, lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.
