Franklin County School Bus Loses Axle, Lands in Ditch

No one was hurt early Tuesday morning when a Franklin County school bus ended up in a ditch.

It happened just off Gumlog Road on Rue Chalet.  The bus was carrying a handful of Middle School students at the time.

A Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy on the scene said the driver was attempting to turn the bus around when it appeared one of the axles fell off.

None of the students on the bus were injured. Parents arrived to help get students to school.

A second school bus arrived a short time later to take the children to school.
