Franklin County IBA Approves Tax Incentive Package for NVR Homes

The Franklin County Industrial Building Authority has voted to offer an incentive package to NVR Homes.

The Board voted after going into executive session Tuesday afternoon.

NVR Homes is planning to build a 145,000-square-foot building on 184 acres off Old Federal Highway in Carnesville where they will make trusses for new homes they’re constructing in Georgia.

In addition to the truss factory, NVR also plans to build a large distribution center facing I-85.

Last month, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved a zoning change for the parcels from Ag Intensive and Ag General to Light Industrial.

NVR Homes plans to hire about 200 employees over the next several years with 100 employees each working two shifts.

The new truss facility and distribution center amounts to a $100-million dollar project and the tax revenue for the county is expected to be about $1 million in addition to the water and sewer usage.
