Franklin County EMT’s Finish Well in Morgan Bass Tournament

Two Franklin County EMT’s fished with the pro’s over the weekend at the 14th Annual Morgan Concrete Bass Tournament on Lake Hartwell and came out on top.

“Brandon Gibson and Ben Norris fished around the Gumlog area, and they finished in second place weighing in at around 15lbs,” said Franklin County EMS spokesman Josh Smith. “These two guys are not professionals, they’re amateurs, they both live in Lavonia and they finished in second place out of a 150 boats.”

First place prize money for the Morgan Concrete Bass Tournament was $1,000.

The Morgan Concrete Bass Tournament is part of Georgia’s GoFish program and part of the Bass Federation series of tournaments on Lake Hartwell.

Most of the two-man teams who participated were professional, full-time, anglers so for Gibson and Norris to come in second was quite an accomplishment.

“We’re just very proud of these two guys,” said Smith.
