The Franklin County Sheriff’s office has lost one of its most trusted officers.

On Friday, Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas announced the passing of the Department’s drug dog, Deputy K-9 Jax.  Jax died January 28th.

Jax was a 4-yr old German Shepherd and was trained in narcotics and tracking.

Jax lived with his Deputy, K-9 handler Harold Jordan and his family.

Thomas said his entire department mourns the loss of Jax.

No word on the cause of death, nor whether the department will look to replace their K-9 officer.
