Franklin Co Teachers Receive “Bright Ideas” Grants

A number of teachers in the Franklin County Charter School System have been awarded grants from Hart EMC for their bright ideas.

It’s called the Hart EMC Bright Ideas grant.

Bright Ideas grants provide educators with funding of up to $1,000 per grant for innovative classroom projects that benefit students and would not otherwise be covered by school budgets.

Teachers awarded grants in Franklin County include:

Felicia Howell at Royston Elementary received $724.

Tracey King with Lavonia Elementary School received $700.

Several teachers at Carnesville Elementary were awarded Bright Ideas grants.

They are Gina Thomason who received a $690 grant, Kim Johnson who received a $518 grant, Kandy Hardman who received $250, Lisa Eavenson received $500, and Lavon Grizzle received $700.

Amy Cheek at Franklin County Middle School received $919 and Kevin McClain at Franklin County High School received $761.

Hart EMC is awarding around $25,000 this year to K-12 grade teachers in Hart, Elbert, Franklin, and Stephens counties.
