Franklin BOC Meets Tonight for December Work Session

Franklin County Commissioners will meet for their monthly work session a week early.

Commissioners normally meets on the last Tuesday of the month, but will meet tonight instead.

The change was suggested by County Manager Beth Thomas in November.

On the agenda, the board is expected to hear from Frank Riley with the Chattahoochee/Chestaee RC&D board.

And they will also hear from Jim Parnell, of the law firm Gray, Pannell & Woodward LLC in Savannah who has been serving as the County’s bond attorney for the hospital bond debt repayment.

Pannel is expected to go over how the new SPLOST monies will be used as well as how the refinancing of the hospital bond debt plan is proceeding.

After the regular work session, the board is then expected to work on what would normally be part of their year-end planning session.

Commissioners will go into an executive session to discuss personnel issues associated with the next calendar year.

Part two of their year-end planning session will actually take place in January, also at the suggestion of the County Manager.

So far, no date has been nailed down for that planning session in January.

Tonight’s work session takes place at 6p at the Justice Center in Carnesville.
