Four to Run for Hartwell Mayor Seat

In Hart County, the list of candidates running for Hartwell Mayor is long.

Four people are running for that seat, including incumbent Jennifer Scott.  Scott will be challenged in November by former Hart County commissioner Brandon Johnson who resigned his District 3 seat to run, former Hartwell City councilman David Little who also resigned his seat to run against Scott and former Hartwell city councilman Mike Gordon.

In the races for Hartwell City Council, four city council seats are open.

Councilmen Billy Ethridge, Arthur Craft, and Tray Hicks have all qualified to run for re-election.  Ethridge and Craft are running unopposed. Hicks is being challenged by local citizen Mary Beth Focer.

In the race to fill the unexpired term of former city councilman David Little, only Bill Griggs has qualified and he will run unopposed in November.

In the race to fill the unexpired term of Brandon Johnson on the Hart County Board of Commissioners, only local citizen Jimmy Carey has qualified.  Cary will run unopposed.
