Former Hart Co. Resident, Current Alabama Speaker of the House Indicted

After a more than yearlong investigation, former Hart County resident and current speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, Mike Hubbard, has been indicted by a grand jury and charged with 23 counts, including using his office for personal gain and soliciting things of value. He is one of the people behind the 2010 Republican take over of the Alabama legislature. Hubbard, who is a powerful leader in the Alabama Republican Party, says he is innocent of the charges and claims that the case against him is nothing more than a political witch hunt.
