Former Hart Co HS Teacher Indicted

Corinna Crumpton

A former Hart County High School German teacher has been indicted by a Hart County grand jury.

In January, GBI Agent in Charge Jesse Maddox said Corinna Crumpton, 30, of Toccoa was arrested charged Crumpton with sexual assault and electronically furnishing obscene materials to a minor, both felony charges.

The indictments came on February 21, when the Grand Jury indicted Crumpton on one charge of electronically furnishing obscene materials to a minor and felony first-degree sexual contact by a person in a position of trust.

Maddox said the investigation began in December of 2021 at the request of the Hartwell Police Department.

Crumpton taught German at Hart County High School but resigned at the end of January.

Maddox said the crimes allegedly took place between August and December of 2021. He said the investigation is active and ongoing.

According to the indictment, last August, Crumpton allegedly sent nude photos of herself to a minor, via Instagram, who according to the indictment was a student.

Crumpton, who lives in Toccoa, is out on a $20,000 bond.  So far, no trial date has been set.
